I am no virtuoso, but I have always loved poking around on the piano. It was disappointing to have stroked and temporarily lost my left hand - and hence, half my song! My wonderful husband and son will take turns occasionally accommodating me on a Sunday afternoon by sitting next to me on the piano bench and playing one hand while I play the other. I love my men! Well, I introduce to you "Grace" born of lots of healing, occupational therapy, perseverance, and... grace. The following video is me playing a snippet of a song I've loved for a couple years now. You'll want to sample the original here: "Grace" by David Tolk. I finally broke down and ordered/ downloaded the sheet music 2 weeks ago. So you are seeing me in the first stages of sight reading the music as well as the forced use of my left hand. My song execution is stiff and the camera is shaky, but it is the movement of the left hand that is impressive and remarkable. Most people have no idea how difficult it is to target the correct keys and follow through with enough pressure to get any sound out of those piano keys when one has suffered a stroke and/or brain trauma. Makes me proud! I don't fully understand or appreciate the concept of grace. (this explanation by Brad Wilcox helped me tremendously and it's all about playing the piano.) But do I know enough to realize I been offered much grace as a highly imperfect human being. I do what I can do and His grace follows through. (I totally just made that up. Cool, now I'm a poet, too!)
Ether 12:27, BOM And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. 2 Corinthians 12:9, NT And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
